So, I just got hold of an ancient Texas "heavy duty" reloading press. The guy who sold it to me had it set up for 12ga. Does anyone know anything about it?

I've done a little digging and my google-fu has shown that it /should/ accept all dies, but if anyone knows for sure that would be very appreciated. I'm intending to reload .303, .30-30, and 9mm if possible.

Thanks!

TEXAN is the correct name, iirc. That might work better if you're searching online for parts or info.

Can you screw a regular 7/8 x14 die into it, and will it accept modern shell holders?

I don’t have any dies to try, but I can check later. I brought it home and don’t have time right now to check. From everything i can find, it takes standard dies. Not sure about shell holders. Based on the apparent age of the machine, I would say there’s a possibility it won’t. I’ll get the dies I need and check if they fit. Worst case scenario I can always sell the press and buy something else.

It is apparently purpose built for Shotshell reloading, but adaptable
