Hello all,

I've got a Czech TGF 1950 K98K, all serials (except bolt release lever) matching, the only markings are on the left side of the receiver, two circled 'T's with a 'Z' above each of them. I'm not sure if I simply haven't done enough research but I can't seem to pin down the story of this rifle, unless if it was simply sold to the civilian market as-is. Other people's TGF 1950s have markings that denote an East German Border Guard service or even Ethiopian! There are also the ones that have the enlarged trigger guard for the user's thick mittens/gloves during the colder seasons. Other than the circled 'T's, the rifle has no markings or furniture (that I am aware of) that indicates any unique history, from a glance, it looks like a typical Kriegsmodell.
I was wondering if any of the users here are familiar with this line of rifles and could help me in determining if this rifle was sold as-is to the general public or if it saw service.

Sorry if this is a silly question but is there a way of uploading images aside from URLs? Unless if there's a method that everybody here has been using, I can't imagine how to upload pictures from your USB device via URL.
I just think it would be a bit more helpful for threads like these if one could upload a picture of their hardware. I'm new to this forum, so I haven't got the hang of how everything works yet.

Give this a read for posting pictures: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...ages-hosted-in-a-3rd-party-image-hosting-site

I suggest sites like Flickr, IMGUR, ImgBB, etc for free picture hosting

Sorry BlackPowderBurner, but some of the info you posted is incorrect.

tgf was not the code for Brno (Brünn) during WW2 under German occupation. It started as “945” then “dot”, and ended the war as “swp”. Tgf, though apocryphally thought to stand for “Tschechisch GewehrFabrik” is incorrect. It’s just a random code that Brno and later CZUB used as factory codes, such as tgf, she, etc…

Hope this helps.
