hello all,

i just picked up a tgf 1950 mauser with all numbers matching, laminated stock with no dents, the bore looks brand new with sharp rifling and no pitting, just wondering what the approximate value would be? i would like to freshen it up, not planning on selling but don't want to turn a $1500 into a $300 one. thanks for any help, i might be able to get photos up.

here are the photos, couldnt get a good shot of the bore but its mint.

This would be better placed in the Milsurp forum than here, but, anyways...

The tgf code was used by Czechoslovakia after WW2 (kind'uv a holdover from the German letter code manufacturers system), it is believed most of the tgf marked K98s were sold or made for the DDR (East Germany).

Yours looks to be East German issue. With the condition that one is in, there is almost nothing you an do to it to "freshen" it up. It looks perfect!

Hard to judge what the market will bear, but most likely in the $400 - $500 range.

I wouldn't do a thing to it besides cleaning the bore and giving it a light coat of gun oil.

Cheers!
