Thank you to Wolverine Supplies

We all see so many negative reviews of gun stores I just wanted to put out a positive experience.

I had a Daniel Defense on pre-order but decided to get something a bit more practical (for now)

I dealt with Guy at Wolverine's and in about a 4 minute phone call he cancelled my pre-order, I purchased two other in stock guns and he helped me pick out rings and scope.

The whole process was so painless and fast that I couldn't have asked for better service.

Thanks again, I'm enjoying my guns!

They are always awesome to deal with. I have a very minor issue with a pre-order and they dealt with it right away.

They also are charging (well, they were before they just sold out) $18.50 for PMAGs, when some other retailers were charging upwards of $30.

Those are two of the reasons I buy from Wolverine when they have what I want.

Wolverine is one of the best to deal with, if not the best on this forum, even when my XCR crapped out on the range they were more then happy to coach me through the proccess of sending it back and what not (which I'd never done), AND they covered shipping. Lemme tell ya, thats how you keep buisness!

They are great to deal with dont feel bad that DD won't be around long before someone else snaps it up especially if its a 10.3.

What'd you end up getting?

Well I had a DD Mk18 on pre-order but it looked like it was going to be a couple of months still before my turn was up - I will get an AR at some point but I'm pretty new to owning guns and decided I should get set up with more practical firearms to start instead of a range/fun gun. I can shoot in my back yard all day long at home so this is more fun than driving to the range.

I ended up with a CZ 452 .22 for accurate plinking / small game if desired and a Marlin 1895GS 45-70 for a big boom stick (there is a bear been wandering a little too close to our place lately).

The wife really likes the CZ and it has turned into her gun and I really like the 45-70 (also just starting to get equipment together to reload the Marlin).

I read so much doom and gloom about 'Remlins' that I really felt like I was rolling the dice on the Marlin but i was actually pretty pleased with what I got. There were no scratches on the stainless steel, no stripped screws, the stock fits pretty good (tiny bit off but nothing like what I've seen pictures of).

Cycling the lever was pretty tight but just watched some videos, gave the innards a very light sanding and now things are pretty smooth and I can cycle it with one finger. Shoots well, I've never had any issue with it feeding or going bang.

Only other issue was the feed port was very sharp on the inside (actually cut my fingers a few times feeding the tube). I just took a snap cap, wrapped some fine sand paper around it and pushed it in and out like I was feeding ammunition until it wasn't sharp.

Very few problems really and easily resolved at home - if anyone is considering a Marlin I think they have their act together now.
