Hi everyone the results for the "Halloween Hoot" Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club October 21 & 22 Level 2 Match have been sent to IPSC Ontario and should appear on the web site in the next day or so.

Again we had a match that was a classier for each division.

We had 116 competitors, several who had just completed their black badge course at Wentworth.

I couldn't do it myself and I have to thank all of the RO's and helpers who gave up their weekend to make this match run so smoothly.

On a side note, we used the on-line match/squad management system for the first time. From a match directors perspective it was a joy to work with.

Competitors were able to take care of when and who they were shooting with. I monitored the system over the month's leading up to the match and noticed people moving to different times and day, pulling out and re entering the match. We had changes even on Saturday, for our Sunday squads.

The ability to send a group e-mail reminder was also very useful. My first reminder had the immediate action of having 7 people pull out of the match and 3 others fill their spots. The final reminder (two days before the match) had a few more pull out and another enter. The end result was we only had 3 no-shows for the entire match, 2 of which were due to the poor guys getting lost and believing they wouldn't be able to shoot because they would be very late. (They e-mailed to apologize and I let them know if they had made it we could have fit them in) For comparison last year we have 22 no shows.

The learning curve for the system is not too steep and I'd highly recommend it for anyone who runs matches.

Thanks again and I’ll see you at the Range.

Steve, I would like to thank you, your ROs and helpers again for all your hard work. It was a fun match this afternoon.

I agree with you about the online signups. I love it. I was one of the ones who was able to make a last min change to my squad time due to some unforseen family commitments.

Nick
