On holidays this year, I visited the boys at Homestead range west of Calgary. I could not bring my gear and rifle since the wife and kids had the trunk full of clothing. On day two of my visiting, a good friend said he was not in the running anyway and asked if I wanted to fire his last yardage at 600M in Fclass, a 2+10. Of course the answer was yes. I did not shoot any X's with his rig but managed a 50-6v for a score. After that, another good friend asked if I wanted to try his rifle as well for a few rounds. It was very nice :D The match used a little different target, with the usual values and sizes for everything up to the 5. The V was again cut in half to create a X ring. Being Fclass, the V is a 6 and the X is worth 7 points. This is his rifle I used...

The next day, I called another good friend and he asked if I wanted to go pop some "caps" and he took me out to DeWinton south of Calgary for 125 rounds trap session with his competition single shot shotgun. This shotgun was made in the US by an old Polish guy, called a Ljutic. The owner told me that he liked it better than the $13000 Paratz shotguns since the Ljutic has only 3 moving parts, was made back in the 40's and still had all the original parts were the Paratz was like a swiss watch with many springs etc in it. It has been about 10 years since I fired a shotgun but after a few rounds I was back on. At the end, I think I ran 25 out of 25.

I know I'm not a shotgunner so the spelling of these guns is way off but anyone that knows shotguns will know the names I talk about.

I'd like to thank these men for making my trip to Calgary more enjoyable. A big thanks goes out to Henry Rempel, Glen Taylor and Vik Nill. Finer gents do not exist IMO.
