Just a quick thank you to the optics community on CGN. You really helped me see a clearer picture of the optic market.
I finally choose to buy a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40mm for my rem 7600. I also bought a low mount from leupold and leupold rings (no more horrible kwick-site for me). The cost of the scope was 329 $ can. Add a 65 $ for the rings and mount and the whole package totaled 452 $. The scope had a 70 $ instant rebate and comes from a reliable store so it's no counterfeit crap.
I was going there to buy a VX-I but this VX-II with the rebate was the same price as the lower end Leupold scope so I decided to go with the flow and purchase it.
So here's my story CGN. Again thanks for all your tips and stories.
