that got to hurt

Proximity fused type AA shells of that sort are not a new design by any means...been around forever...

But i do say, AAA makes a wonderful anti-personell unit as well.

That's not a WWII-style proximity fuse, it's a programmable response delay nose fuse that is set electronically by the fire control system. The fuse itself is programmed magnetically as the projectile travels through the muzzle device. Far more effective than a proximity fuse. The gun in question is the Bofors 40 mm L/70 that's been around since the 30's. Here's the Swedish CV90 vs. a VW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydk_w5toWnU.

good ol swedes. We need some of that in afghanistan against the insurgents

Our bright politicians will call that inhumane. :puke:

I was waiting to see some action against the motor boat or moving truck but they never showed any thing like that. That would have been interesting to watch how long it would take to disable it. Regardless that was a good presentation.

Those shells must be cheaper than a missile, rocket that can stop similar targets.
