Far from perfect, but it was a good learning experience in the art of steaming the stock to remove dings. I did find that working on two pieces of wood rather than my usual Lee Enfield four parts makes things easier :)

I didn't find a spare cleaning rod, that's my only true pet peave about this project.

I am not to sure on the spanish mauser but on many of the small ring mausers the cleaning rod threads through and bears against the recoil lug, effectively bedding the rifle. I knwo for sure every swede I have ever had shot way better with the cleaing rod installed and tightened.

Nice work on that stock!

Thanks guys, much appreciate.

David, I hoped the cleaning rod would have been standard Mauser, but in this case, it's a type that has a machined section in the middle that allows it to be "clipped" in place by one of the spring tabs under the forend. I had hoped to make one myself but time is not abundant enough.
