That's why you choose AK

Can't believe this circus of a thread is going on.

I'm guessing all the LARP'ing fields are closed, so you guys are stuck in your mom's basement wearing your knockoff sh*tty chicom Condor gear, fantasizing about which rifle you would take into battle once the boogaloo comes to your neighborhood.

The ar15 is a better weapon system. Period. As someone who's owned both, the ar15 is a much, much more refined weapon system. It's had the advantage of having decades of evolution of refinement (largely due to the US civilian market), while the AK has been stuck in the 50's.

I wouldn't want to get shot at with either, but 10 times out of 10 I would pick up an ar15 over an AK.

Had to look up what LARP is ; ) But if you seriously came to here to share your experience and thoughts, not just show off your coolness - you would probably agree that you'd pick a gun which have lots of ammo supply and preferably spare parts easy to get.

I came to this thread to have fun. This thread was ridiculous from the get go, with the OP trying to claim one rifle was better then another due to it having a (too) short cleaning rod.

This thread is full of people that haven't had experience with either weapons platforms, yet apparently strong opinions on them.

At first I was hoping that I somehow may have ended up on ar15.com, which would've explained the ridiculousness of the thread. But nope, CGN continuing it's downward spiral.

It's like asking a guy which is better a Ford or GMC truck, then the Dodge guy throws in his .02 cents.

Both platforms have their strengths, but unless you own both, and can do a side by side comparison, it's like telling someone to buy a set of dentures off a website, because you read on the internet it would be fine....

That's like saying a Yugo lived up to its expectations (mass produced POS, like an AK), versus the Lamborghini, which had a lot of years of refinement.

I'm not sure about you, but I'd take a lambo over a Yugo any day of the week.

You can thank import restrictions for making the AK uncompetitive in the U.S. market.

If modern AK variants from real AK manufacturers like Kalashnikov were available for less than $300 new, then you wouldn't see as many ARs, and definitely wouldn't see any U.S. manufactured trash AKs around.

Yes, I think there are very few if any people who have been in a field with both platforms for extended period of time. Otherwise how can you really compare.
