So i use this bullet in a 30-06 for bush stalkng, so say to 250m, point shoot scenerio on bigger sambar stags and hinds only, it pretty solid and pases through most often but expands.

i tried to explain this somewhere earlier but figured id post up as its from the horses mouth regarding their 65D bullet, which differs from there other 180gr PPSN .308 cal Bullet.

I have Wooleighs in several permutations. 6.5MM - 160, 30-30 - 150, .308 - 180, .312 - 174, 323 - 220.
None have ever delivered stellar accuracy, but they kill well.

I originally intended to use the .323 - 220 gr. in my 8mm Rem Mag, but could not get it to shoot
under 1¾ moa, whereas the 220 A-Frame was shooting under moa consistently.

You can guess which bullet I take hunting, lol. Dave.

Dave thats interesting!!
its not the first time ive heard about not recieving stellar accuracy!!
or more to the point i have alot of people ask me for my recipes , as they cant seem to find any Combo that must please them!!

im like You, inch an a half or so and its huntin season! *** Edit, i misread, im not like You lol. im happy with reasonable accuracy for hunting :)

good to hear mate.

Purchased a box of Weldcore 140gr PP SN from a retailer here in Saskatchewan. Believe it or not there was a single box in the province.

Couldn't help myself and felt the need to try another bonded bullet for deer hunting. 7mm-08.

EE, how much "less stellar" did you find them? I managed to develop accurate loads for Accubonds and Federal's Trophy Bonded Tip and am very happy with accuracy and in the field performance with either of those... and now I am having second thoughts about whether or not to attempt load development.

Hunting shots are 350yds or less, that's my comfort level.

I used the 250 gr Woodleighs in my 8 RM, they worked well, but certainly weren't the most accurate bullet I ever tried. - dan

RonR; EE said:
Ron; They were "huntable" groups, just not as good as I could get from other premium bullets.
For example, the .308 - 180 WC averaged right around 1.5 moa. [the 180 NAB was around ¾ moa]
Within 350 yards, there would be no issue really.
Some of my moose and elk hunting is in areas where a 500 yard shot is possible, so I like a tight
grouping bullet, just in case. :) [This years elk was 425 yards] Dave.

Much obliged for the response. I know where to take it from here.

i would be interested too see this an if it panned out or not... many blokes can get 1 inch/moa groups an some do say finer groups but , an of course, like many things, it is online where these roumers pop up from...

load em up an see how ya go mate, it would be a bit more well known if they simply were not accurate? or not accurate more often than they are... ?

i rekon a great choice for 140gr 7mm!! -08

I will be loading em up, that is certain, just needed some realistic expectations to acheive with the setup i run and the processes in place. These seem to be rare in these parts and burning though boxes of something i cant find would be futile.

...fun but futile. ;)

I want to see the results on a deer to compare as well.

Cheers WL.

The magnum version is short neck and short magazine friendly. Some bullets are on the verge of falling into a .300 Win case when they will fit in a 3.400ish mag box.

Nosler does something similar.
