The 260 Rem and the 7x57 with StaBALL 6.5

I manged to get my hands on some of this new ball powder, so loaded up some test ammo for my
260 and my 7x57

I was using the 130 Accubond with the 260, and worked up to 44 grains. Did not graph the load,
but there were no signs of excess pressure, and groups were very acceptable.

The 7x57, I shot the 140 Accubond and worked up to 51 grains. I suspect this is still mild in my
rifle by all appearances, but it shot well..2 shots basically touching, and the third making a ¾ moa
group total [#1AB Ruger, a recent acquisition]

So far, the StaBALL seems to be working fine. I will graph these loads to help determine where I
stand. I'll report later. Dave.

I am following with interest EE. I was testing that powder in 7mm-08 in the spring to see if there were any preferences. No time at the moment to resume.

I use 46 grains of Staball 6.5 in my Tikka 6.5x55 with Hornady IL 129 for an easy submoa accuracy. John Barsness suggests 2-3 grains less for 260 when compared with the 6.5x55. So with 44 grains in your 260, you are there.

I loaded up an ladder string for my 260 with the 130gr AB's this winter too with 6.5Staball, 40.5 to 43.8gr at 0.3gr increments, to compare to my H4350 loads, haven't had the chance to run them through the Chronograph yet, but hoping to narrow down my best grouping load with H4350 at 0.751" and stay temperature stabil,

I like StaBALL, it has been working great in 22 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 260 Rem, 280 Ackley

I ran staball in my 3006 and 7mm08, velocity is definitely high I found compared to h4350, but just not as accurate. And pressure builds fast I found. Be careful once nearing max charge. I was getting moa, but with h4350 .5 moa. Velocity was 3050 with a 140 out of my 7mm08 , but decided to stop at there using 140s

Nothing really to mention at this point. I was testing different bullet weights and primers at min book loads to see if there was any preferences for this powder.

W760 and 150gr grouped lights out in ladder testing and accuracy load over any other combination in this particular rifle and this is why Staball has my interest. The ball stuff meters so well and if it's somewhat better with temp swing than 760, and as accurate as where I need it to be for hunting I would use it. I have loads with Varget and N540 that are stout and accurate right now. I have no reason to look elsewhere other than experiences with 760...

I'd like to create a load with 140/145gr bullets for hunting, once I have sourced an amount of an appropriate hunting bullet that is new to me. Looking for a few more Woodleighs or Fusions to try out.
