The 30-30 club, are you in?

I know.
I have a pre waffle in 35rem and get chit every time I mention of getting it screwed.
My aging eyes don’t fair well with irons.
Mine's post waffle (.35 Rem) so came with the holes already. I guess if I didn't have the ones I do, I'd probably look for ones with the holes for scope mounting. But in the end it's your iron, and a guy gets attached to the rifle he knows and has used. Doesn't matter much if you're not flipping it.

Found out as a kid, that I could do a lot better with a scope.
If it's a firearm you enjoy and like to shoot, no shame in tasteful, well done modifications that make it easier to use/more effective in your hands. I think the only legitimate safe queens are heirloom guns/firearms with some major historical provenance. I always think of the guy who first bought that firearm many years ago. Did he baby it? Or was it a tool he used to fill the freezer? Besides, dings/dents/modifications help tell the stories of trips taken afield and memorable shots made with the rifle. So do that thing a favour and add to its history!

Shot my first whitetail with my father 30-30 model 94 50 years ago,I know I`m old.Father passed away 12 years ago but that 94 will live on for many more years, daughter has dibbs on it when I go and I know she will cherish it for many years.Over the years I have bought and sold many firearms but that one old model 94 remained and always will

My father will be gifting me his Marlin 336 Zane Grey Centennial in 30-30. Has a small amount of damage to the stock where the replacement rear sling swivel is, original one must have been ripped off accidentally in the past. Other than that it's in fine shape, he barely put 100rds through it since he bought it in 1972.
