Well, I'm not sure about the Ruger...but the 'Kicked in Tavern Wench' was a pussycat as far as recoil. My daughter remarked ( at 14 ...) after shooting a 2400 FPS 250 grain load ( 375 WM) " I like shooting it...why?" as far as the recoil.
I live in Southern AB. Big kickers are for men who are compensating IMO..." what, you need an 8mm STW to hunt WT...?

Aw, Jeez...there's the "O" word yet again.

Do any of you "New King" guys even know what the word "obsolete" means?

I left my 375 Ruger Alaskan in the closet this time, instead took the Cz550 416 Rigby for a walkabout looking for Bison. Was 1/2 a hour too early on one and 1/2 hour too late on another. Oh well next time. Maybe carry the 375 Ruger, or maybe the Classic Winchester M70 in 375 H&H. That was the one i used on my very first Bison with excellent results

so not that much hands so many guns.

always hard to decide which one to go.

cant see a better caliber than a .404 jeffery for our bison ...

let s hope for snow and cold.

Bison are an item on my 'bucket list'. I was thinking of using either my 375 H&H or 375 Chatfield Taylor should I get the opportunity.

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=16401289 Hi Phil. Used my 404 Jeffery on Moose a few years ago, i had loaded Hornady DGX, i wouldn't use them again. I now hace some Rhino bullets which i will use- maybe on Bison

Never tired the DGX bullets, what didn't you like about them?

they make the 375 ruger not efficient at all.

there is genII that i will not trust either.

seems hornady did not make strong enough bullet.

Shortly after acquiring a custom Remington 700 in 375 Chatfield Taylor from a gentleman on site, I 'lucked out' in accumulating a selection of bullets to ;) 'play with'. One brand in particular from that 'luck' group is Martix. At that time, the guy making them lived close by in Crofton. After a visit to see his operation, I purchased a selection for some of the calibres in my 'harem'. In 375, I picked up a couple of boxes of his 270gr bonded and a couple in 300gr FBRN bonded.:d
