My Stoeger Stac-8000 was shooting Crosman Priemier 22 caliber 14.3 gr pellets into around 1/2 inch groups at roughly 30 yards.

Went though a 500 ct tin of these and when I started a 2nd 500 ct pack I noticed my accuracy go to shyt...now I'm lucky if I get 1.5 inch group at the same distance.

Do these pellets vary this much from tin to tin?

First thought it might be the scope so changed that..crappy still.

Cleaned the barrel twice...still crappy.

Swapped pellets to RWS 11.9 grs and now back to less than 1/2 groups.

So must be the Crosman pellets varying from batch to batch...anyone else experience this much difference from tin to tin with Crosman?

As Jefferson notes, Crosman pellets are not known for accuracy. Pellet head size will vary not only between tins but also within tins. Every brand will have variation within tins, but Crosman pellets can be especially bad in that regard. Makers of good quality pellets will offer a couple of different head sizes in their pellets, more in .177 but also in .22. Among better quality pellets are JSB and H&N pellets.

Yes, I noticed a marked difference in performance using the .22 Premiers (whether wadcutters, domed, hollow point, didn't matter).

Just like yourself, when I switched to RWS (I used the Meisterkugeln 14gr .22) and also RWS Hobby .22s, the accuracy was much better overall. I highly recommend the Meisterkugelns though.

It's not just the Premiers that have inconsistent performance from tin to tin. Crosman's Copperhead line has these issues too.
