In . . . pistol form?

From my favorite of course: The Firearm Blog

The first civilian-legal form of our 805 Bren is the PS1 Pistol, equipped with an 11″ barrel in .223/5.56. Utilizing the ubiquitous STANAG magazine used in the AR-15/M16, the 805’s action is housed in a one-piece aluminum upper receiver with a monolithic Picatinny rail.

At the rear of the action is a multipurpose mounting point, fit from the factory with a single-point sling attachment.

The addition of our accessory arm brace adapter coupled with the effective factory-equipped two-port brake makes the Bren impressively stable to shoot in pistol form. It shares the same low-profile sights as our Scorpion — an adjustable aperture rear and post front.

MSRP $1982.00 USD
Chambering .223/5.56
Magazine Capacity 30
Magazine Type AR-15/M16
Sights Low-profile, adjustable, 4 rear aperture sizes
Barrel Cold hammer forged

Unlike many of its competitors, the S805 features a modular magazine well, which allows CZ to easily offer to the US market the STANAG magazine compatible module as an accessory. CZ has (rightly, in my opinion) estimated that a proprietary magazine for the S805 pistol would be a serious hindrance to the weapon’s acceptance by US civilian shooters. The Czech military 805 will utilize proprietary translucent magazines.

We're really starting to fall behind with these new Black Rifles that are available in the States...there's the 805, but also the Scorpion Evo, the SIG MPX, the ARX100 of course, and soon the X95. And none are available here nor are they likely to be for who knows how long.

It has to be made so it is on simple grounds. Make it so the FRT can be challenged in court if the importer/manufacturer believes the classification is BS.

All that should be needed by the RCMP is a measuring tape, a range to see how many rounds are fired per trigger pull, a quick glance inside to make sure there is no hidden happy fun switch, a glance at there encyclopedia to determine "lineage" and out the door it goes!

That could work for NRs.

If someone brings them into Canada as a NR platform, they would sell like hot-cakes ... unless the pricing was ridiculous. We are already getting a little stretched on XCR and FAMAE prices.

$2K seems reasonable for a new rifle system, at least inline with other new systems. What remains to be seen is if it will have teething issues.

That RCMP firearms "lab" is a Liberal Guard leftover and the CPC needs to do something about it. The RCMP should not makeup laws. Barrel more than 18 inches? (We SHOULD change that to 16 to be more compatable with the US but the leftists would scream over "being to American"....whatever); no happy switch? GTG!!

They won't be cheap. They are selling the semi auto version in Czech Republic at about 2500 USD already. There was a already some sort of issue going on as to why CZ is charging the Czech military 4800 USD for a FA Bren 805 but the semi auto is going in the commercial market for half of the price.

then add on the Canadian dollar so an extra 20-25% on the American price, that gun is now 3k plus

That's hard to understand or believe.

If the US market is successful, hopefully the price will come down. The CZ military is kinda dragging their feet and the procurement is reported to be slow.

Could the $4800 include support costs or sparing over the life of the contract?

I would gladly pay up for one of these. The RCMP being a branch of the government will, of course, be moving at the speed of molasses. Hopefully for 2015 with a longer barrel to keep it NR in Kriss Vector and CX4 fashion to keep it NR. Not holding my breath.

...well, the commercial version wouldn't have exactly the same selector on it, but you guys get the idea.
