Did not know the the AR concept before, now i am shooting them and i litteraly fell for that mecanik and what great accuracy for a SA rifle, i dont think nothing for me to this day is more impressive than a AR... I just think that many more will come along... Incredible rifles both in AR-15 and AR-10...
I am happy i joined even if i was late to the parade.... JP.

Maybe one day again we will be able to hunt with them!

Another vote here, although we are starting to see other semi that have some advantages, a DI AR is still #1 IMHO, and with the arrival of 300BLK it would be my deer rifle for sure if that wouldn't make me a criminal.

The reason the AR platform is so popular in the US is that it has been their service rifle since Viet Nam. Millions of US servicemen and women have learned to shoot them. It is familiar to most thanks to the movies and television, and is being promoted as the ideal home protection and 'preppers' survival rifle.
With the increasingly disconnect between the US government and the people, it is the 'go to' rifle due to it's universal appeal and the unending list of after-market accessories available to customize it.

How and why the type came to be regarded as evil incarnate is a lesson in political hyperbole, fear mongering and hysteria. The criminal use of the AR type is low to nil in Canada or the US. The ubiquitous Mini 14 continues to be free of this evil connotation, despite being the rifle used at L'Ecole Polytechnique by Gamil Garbi. Go figure .....

There is a reason why they sell like hotcakes down south. I really enjoy both the rifle and carbine length
