OK this has nothing to do with gunsmithing but as gunsmiths and tinkerers I thought we might enjoy a laugh together. This is a true story which took place a couple of years back and I think its worth repeating. The names of those involved have been changed to protect me from mad mothers everywhere.
Belle is a fourteen year old girl with an overbearing mother who dosn't approve of the company she keeps or her lack of enthusiasm at Sunday church service. Belles mother continously burdens her with chores and homework with the intention that it will break ties with disreputable pals and loitering on the streets on the way home from school.
Morning of April first Belle gets ready for the school day and heads out the door as if nothing is wrong.
Shortly afterwards her mother is in the bathroom sitting on the throne and looks down into the waste paper basket and much to her shock sees a home pregnancy kit. This situation only gets worse as a little investigation shows the results of a positive test.
In total horror and anger she dose as most women do, Belle's mother gets on the phone. She phones her sisters, friends, workmates and finally the pastor of the church. The pastor has her in for a counseling session to cool her off a bit before she confronts the expectant teen during her lunch break at the school.
Not wanting to dissapoint her mother Belle is surounded by her friends when the livid grandmother to be comes marching onto the scene wagging a finger and ranting nonsense, only to hear the words. APRIL FOOLS MUM.
