For the upcoming IPSC Nationals I assume that there will be the "BOX" that your gun has to fit in. The rules say that the gun must fit in the box with an empty mag inserted, but I have heard rumours that in Canada we don't follow this as it would eliminate single stack .45's with ten round mags from competing. Anyone able to clear things up?

There is an exemption to putting the magazine into the gun before it goes into the box. It is located on the IPSC Canada website at http://www.ipsc-canada.org/exempt04.pdf.
However, note that the exemption is in response to the 2004 rulebook. I don't know if we need an updated exemption for the 2006 rulebook.
