My Dad has a nice Auto 5 that was his go-to shotgun when I was growing up. So when I talked to my friend Tiddles yesterday, and he mentioned he had a minty Auto-5 Mag 12 lined up, I was all ears. Tiddles decided to pass on the gun but I was all over it. So I ended up with this minty 1965 Belgium Auto-5 in 12 gauge.
Pictures of me 30 years ago with my fathers Auto 5. And then the new to me, 56 year old prestine Belgium beauty. Thanks Tiddles!

Great old gun.Had a Browning Auto 5 Magnum in the past and sold it at a weak moment .Did pick up another Auto 5 Magnum at a later date to replace it.Mine were 32 inch full choke barrels. What does your gun have? Will you use it in the field?

As a youngster I was always in awe of any one who carried a Browning Auto 5.

Thanks guys yes it is a beauty.

The barrel measures 31” which I think they refer to it as the 32” version... (?)
The choke I’d bet is full but I don’t know for sure.

Unreal it looks like someone just pulled that right out of a box . and it says Magnum on the side so I guess she takes 3 inch shells ? can you spell mint . great find . I hope it shoots as good as it looks .

Yes one star on the barrel.
It won’t get a lot of use here. But I should get it out and find some pigeons to shoot. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt the long recoil design of a Auto-5. And I don’t hunt game birds much anymore.

That's what I probably would do as well.Shoot it a little ,but not much.I always have said ,if its worth too much for me to shoot,it is too expensive for me to own.:)

Had a 12 gauge 3" magnum manufactured in '67 IIRC. Someone opened the choke up for steel...350 I think I paid for it. Shot it a bit...my boy traded it out of my hands.
It's his go to goose gun every year now.

I have the same model : a hand-me-down from a great uncle. It's condition is NOTHING like yours!! Major score! Prior to the lead ban, I used it a lot for waterfowling.. it was a great gun for sea ducks. Now it stays in the safe, for the most part. I have taken it turkey hunting and will do so again in the future...
