The CEASE-FIRE Effort - 2021 BC Forest Fires

Hello CGN

I know this is a bit of a regional issue and I know it's been a tough year across Canada as it is. Though I am humbly asking for your help and support.

It's been a bad year for fires here in BC with 1260 wildfires to date, 3,800 current homes evacuated and 17,000 on alert.

Every day I talk to people who have lost their homes, land, possessions, cattle, pets and worst of all friends and family. In a single weekend this year we had 808 fire and heat related deaths. It wears heavy on us and instead of thoughts and prayers we have chosen action.

Most of rural British Columbia are hunters and shooters or related to them.

We will be collecting funds to support the Red Cross British Columbia Fires Appeal to provide relief to those affected by the 2021 forest fires. Every dollar raised will be matched by the BC Provincial Government. This means $1 donated becomes $2.

Any support is greatly appreciated.

With gratitude,
Nicholas Chee
Reliable Gun

And this is why gun owners, gun stores, outdoorsman rock.

Salt of the earth!

I will call in tomorrow morning.

P.

Great cause, and company I work for is pushing for Red Cross donations as well. But I question that claim of 808 deaths in a single weekend from fires and heat. Where on earth did that come from?

Stinks that the shipping on ammo is so darn high now, even to AB. I guess the old fashioned way to donate will have to do! keep up the good work Reliable Gun!

Edit: OK, i guess i'm having an dumb person day... i went to donate and now have to blank orders, both with 0.00$ donations... What am i missing here?

Edit to the Edit: Yup, i was being dumb. i figured it out!

After the 5th call last week of hearing that their houses burnt down or that they have lost everything. We can't just send thoughts, prayers and rainbows. We have chosen action and are grateful that we have received your support.

Thanks Ryan, I was about to call when I saw the donation had gotten figured out.

Also Holy Cow, Thank you very much for the donation. I'm certain it will go a long way, especially when matched.

thankyou to Reliable and to all who are donating to this cause.
Nervously watching the flat lakes fire as it tries to creep up on 100 mile.
Don't think I'll be evacuated but we have been on alert for a few weeks now.

lot of big fires burning to the south and a lot of communities affected.
One thing that I know there is a need for is people with trucks and cattle/livestock trailers. Many people are coordinating thru facebook groups and ranch associations so if you have time and the wheels to lend a hand .... please do.

How are the Wildfire donations going?

P.

Donations are coming in well both online in store.

Lots of big announcements to come.

I'd be all over this if it weren't for the red cross fiasco of Hati....

Surely there is a better way to donate money other than the red cross.

Contact the lads at Tiger Arms, one of our partners in The Effort. Last month they bought $2000 worth of supplies from Costco and drove them up to Lytton, or what was left of Lytton. They can take a donation that can go a more grass roots way if that's what you prefer.

Silvercore is proud to announce that we will be donating partial proceeds from every in person class registration for the month of August to the Cease Fire Effort.

Help us support our friends and neighbours throughout BC that have lost everything to the 2021 forest fires.

The Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia will each match every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross 2021 BC Fires appeal.
This means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires.

Donations will be used for immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery, resiliency, and preparedness for future events in British Columbia and impacted regions, including consequential events related to the fires.
Huge thank you goes out to Reliable Gun for kickstarting this program and working towards the betterment of our community.
