Hey, all.

Meier's Auction last weekend had some interesting stuff amidst the usual sad cases. One of the rifles there was a Cooey Repeater - kind of a pump operated bolt action .22. I had never seen one prior to this, and thought it an interesting bit of make-do engineering. Apparently they called it a Model 35.

Anyone else ever had/seen one? Would you have any pictures?

Cheers,

Dan

I've seen a few show up on the EE in the last few years. Usually demand a significantly higher price than usual cooeys.

First time I saw one, I thought it was a gunsmith conversion of a regular Repeater (Model 60). Learned later that they were factory original. Certainly not common.

Yeah the first one I saw on the EE make me think it was some conversion of a model 60. I have seen 2 in my entire life.

Okay guys, here is a pic of mine, the one camster was referring to. Awhile ago I was talking to John Belton, the fellow who wrote the Cooey book, and he asked me if I had ever seen a model 35. I told him I had one. He said that now makes 4 that he knows about. They are quite rare and if in fairly decent condition, bring a high price to Cooey collectors. However, it will be very hard to find one that has not got a crack in the front of the stock. The design was such that the pump handle smacked the front of the stock when pumped, causing them to crack. This is most likely why it was discontinued. Mine has a small crack that has been professionally repaired and reinforced years ago. Other than that, it is in excellent condition for a model 35. And nope, it's not for sale.

I just bought one of these Cooey pump-action repeaters, sometimes called the Model 35. It is generally in good condition but the safety needs some work.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a blow-up schematic of this model Cooey?

Thanks for your help.

I have one too. I thought it was homemade when I looked at it. All there too. I was thinking of selling it. Its neat but I never shoot it. Mines not as nice as gunsaholics but functions well.
