The coolest SKS you'll ever see.

Finished the whole thing up tonight. I spent about an hour trying to bend a new mag catch and got frustrated. Mounted the stock SKS trigger group, welded the mag catch on and then cut the rest off. Guess I better make this work of I've got a nice fancy paper weight. :D

So it may be finished but it still doesn't work. Seems my hammer needs redesigning. It was hanging up and not allowing the bolt to come back, thinking it was too long, I shaved some material off and the problem got worse. After looking it over I've figured the hammer has to be long enough for the bolt carrier to push it down enough for everything else to ride over it nicely.

Also, funny story, I'm taking the mag catch off the SKS trigger group and everything is going well and suddenly PING. There goes the spring. I figured it was lost forever but decided to take time to look for it while the paint dried. Found it right away, damn lucky.

That ### twist on muzzle brake has to go but I can't find a freakin' allen wrench that fits it!

Don't even think of giving up on it !!!!! You went already too far , there is no return at this point. Go Armedsask , go !!!!!!!!!
 
I'm not even close to giving up. Just have to redo the hammer is all.

I pissed of because I kept trimming material off the hammer, thinking it was too big and jamming up. Turns out it's to small. Hard to explain, but simple fix. More welding! :D
