The death of trap in BC

Many clubs, including ours, buy ammo by the pallet and targets by the truckload. That translates into real savings for club members that shoot a lot. Trap, in the long run, isn't any more expensive than skiing or hockey. Like anything else, if you travel to competitions, the price goes way up.
Don't forget golf, it's at least as expensive to golf, between green fees and golf equipment. And many people think nothing of flying to warm destinations to golf in winter.

But wait……
Dont you see the difference here, in your scenario you run into people who are rude to you at every gun club you go to. In this other scenario, one family was hogging the trap range, there seems to be a distinct difference here but if you don’t see it them maybe we’ve discovered your problem however I understand your cynicism since no one else agrees with you.
Actually in post #162, several other members agree with me.

I was stating a fact that I experienced as a young lad at 14 years old starting out in the target shooting sports industry.

Who are you to suggest I was the problem.
You have no idea what others experience in their lives.

Get off your high horse and let it go.
If you do not like my statement, that’s too bad.
It doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

The rude family from one of the above posts, exactly describes some of the pathetic behaviour of @ssholes.

What you experience in life, what I do, and others do, can all be different. Even complex, but do not judge others when you haven’t got a clue. Your not God, so let it go.

Well clearly there is a common denominator.

The family may not have been paying attention to the people waiting, they may have just been clueless and inattentive, rather than arrogant A holes ,you wouldn't know, unless you approached them, and saw their reaction.

No, they definitely knew what they were doing. Even though my group arrived first, the dad told the son and hurry up to setup at station 1. I didn't make a big deal out of it, as I assumed they would get off after 1 round. Heard them say at one point they were out of shells, and the dad told them to open up some more boxes. Only two trap stations open that day, so we were waiting our turn for the second station (unfortunately a solo taking his time). When he finally finished and as we were getting ready to go up, the family decided to move over to the second station, while leaving all their personal belongings still at the first station. We were able to shoot at station 1, but it was pretty annoying still - had to kick all their empty shells out of the way.

The staff at the range is great, they are usually on top of these things, but they were busy filling up the doubles station. Like I said, every other member I've run into has been friendly though and that has been my only negative experience.

I'm sorry you had to experience this with rude people.

It's very unfortunate to deal with rude, greedy, or people with no couth.

But according to Falconflyer and apparently the spank, you might be the problem, as these kind of things do not happen to them, and couldn't happen because they are both such perfect and outstanding folks.......:):ROFLMAO:

Again I'm sorry for your experience with this, unfortunately there are some creeps on this Gunnutz site as well.

Or at least guys who think they are perfect and like to judge others without knowing a damn thing......:(

Your continued foul language, name calling and always running into nothing but rude people in your gun club experiences speaks volumes. Again the common denominator seems to be you.

Greedyharris was definitely not the problem so maybe you just need to chill out. With the attitude you display here im not surprised you get treated badly.

If a person runs into a problem at one club, it's quite possible that they simply encountered someone that is difficult to get along with, those people exist in every hobby/sport. If a person seems to run into difficulties at the majority of clubs they shoot at, then perhaps they are contributing to the difficulties? I have seen a few people that came out with a chip on their shoulder , some relaxed and fit in well, but some were either intimidated , or felt that they had something to prove, and had issues, and never returned. One individual swore at me, for not letting him shoot skeet without eye protection, another became frustrated after being reminded of safety rules multiple times , because he kept doing things like loading his gun before entering the station , loading more than two rounds in his gun, and having a closed action on the field, and another person became frustrated, because he kept calling for targets with his safety on, to the point where he was reminded to take the safety off, before targets were thrown. It's a two way street, but some people fail to acknowledge that their own behavior can be part of the problem.

As a whole the reason that I love trap shooting is because of the people, as a rule they are very friendly and welcoming and helpful at least in our area, I did run into one fellow once that was an old rude a$$hole and have just ignored him to this day, no time for that. When I was working on the Island years back I shot trap at a couple different clubs, always had a great time and met some fine people. But then again people treat you like you treat them for the most part, show some respect and loose the attitude is a great start when meeting people.
