The evolution of my SKS

I have tried many configurations on my SKS and along the way I took a few pictures.

The day I picked her up.

An experiment with an ATI folding stock (didn't like it much but it looked cool)

Throw on the tapco stock

Dressed it up with an eotech. only to realize that tapco railed piston cover is really just for show

I got rid of that stupid tapco hand guard and replaced it with the old wood one and painted the whole dang rifle

Here she is today, not quite done but close.

Does the Tapco interface with other AR grips or did you have to modify it for the Tango Down grip?

i had to modify. i used a rotary tool to make the male and femail parts fit.

This is what I wnt to make my sks out to look like. How much did it all cost and what rail set up is that on the handguard? Do you have to take it off to clean the rifle?

Yes but I prefer a jacked up sks to a stock vz. Not to mention that I was able to acquire these items extending the cost over a period of time. I was able to buy a rifle right away instead of waiting and saving up. I had a rifle I could use against hordes of zombies and every payday the zombies didn't show up I was able to get closer to having a supremely effective tool.
