Nifty rifle. I have two Straight pull 1895 Mannlichers that are supposed to blow up on the first shot. These are converted to 8x57. My ex-wife used to figure I was just playing Russian Roulette with milsurp rifles.

I had the headspace checked and went to the range. I used low pressure loads and survived. The gun functioned OK, accuracy could be better. Owner wants $225 for it, but I decided not to buy it.
Globe was kind of neat, you could walk in an buy new #4 parts (like actions) etc. I was told by a fellow that worked there that the concrete floor was reinforced with many old barrels. Spooky thing is garbage then would probably be a collectors item today.
