I heard the first one yesterday and there is a flock looking for water on the north saskatchewan river today.

We have thousands of Geese stay on the South Sask. river across from my house all winter long. About 10 minutes to dark every night the sky literally fills with Geese coming back for the night. The noise from all of them at night can be heard inside the house, but we are used to it.

We just had are spring season this past week in parts of southern Ontario. Must have chased them your way with all the shooting. Lol..I am waiting for the swans yo show up here in southern Ontario along the north Shore of Lake Erie .that is my sigh spring has sprong.lol By the looks of the Temps this week or must be here .we are going to be in the plus double digits all week. Had a Canada show up on one of the ponds at work on Feb 18!! The woman in charge of Wildlife Control here at the plant said thats the earliest she's ever seen one back. She chased it off right away. One week later a pair was here and it's been a daily occurrence chasing them away again. Yesterday flocks started arriving and I am told that the adult Snows have started arriving in SE Saskatchewan now.....sure is early this year!! Can't wait to get after some spring Snows!!

My partner and I had a super lucky day midweek, managed to get ten and gave up early because I erroneously thought that we reached our limit, in reality it's ten each. One was banded, already called it in, six-year-old bird banded on the east shore of Hudson's Bay, on the Quebec side.

I've been seeing the very first handful of Canada's trickling in looking for a place to relax. There always seems to be swans kicking around someplace.
With the warm weather forecasted the dam will break very soon. Can't wait to see the cobwebs in the sky's of migrating waterfowl pushing north. It's always an amazing sight.
