WOW! I bough some 10mm brass off a CGNer and most had been handloaded then run through a Glock. My first thought when I saw this was "aww s**t". Oh well it can't be that bad right?

Some peices are actually having brass swaged off and are much, much harder to resize than any brass I have ever run through my press. I never thought the bulge was such a noticable thing. I bought an aftermarket barrel for my Glock when I started reloading for it. No issues. Anyway, just wanted to share that... I think I am gonna need to mount my press to a stronger bench.

What brand of die are you using? Not making a plug for any particular brand of dies, but I've reloaded all kinds of 40S&W brass that has come from Glocks and they size and feed fine in my P16-40 and my M610. Some of them look "bulged" but size up just fine with no extra effort at the press. Maybe you have some "extra bulged" ;).....or a die with a sharp leading edge?

BTW, I'm using the blue brand.

RCBS at the moment, I'll try me Lee dies. I think "extra bulged" would be a good description. Luckily only about 1 in 10 have seen a hot load. The rest size up easily, even more so since I am now lubing them.

I reload 9mm for my glock and have noticed the bulge when reloading factory ammo that I have first fired through the glock. It resized fine in my Lee Cast Press and then I reloaded it with a mid range charge for paper punching.

With the reduced (from factory) load there is no more bulge to deal with and the brass is on it's 4th load and still looking great.

The other thing to try is to first fire the factory stuff from another pistol and then reload lighter for the glock with a factory barrel.

LEE has come out with a new die called the Bulge buster. You send the entire case thru it and it tak's care of all those nasty bulge's and love handle's.:dancingbanana:

I can't find anything like this on their website.

On another note, anybody know who sells Lee Precision products here in Canada? I am looking for the Factory Crimp die in 7.62x54r and and having a hell of a time.

look up "glocked brass" on youtube, he runs 40sw brass through a lee factory crimp die to remove the bulge due to "glocked brass"... see if that works.

here you go added it to my post...

I ended up just tossing out the badly bulged stuff. Anything that was even lightly swaged got tossed. Some of it was pretty bad. I swear one case nearly failed. It made it about 3/4 the way into the die before stopping. I pulled it out and my jaw dropped. Even with a stock G20 that must have been a really heavy charge to deform it that much.

Interesting about the Lee FCD, I have one I think I'll try that sometime.

I have never had any issues with my G17 and bulges.

Load your ammo hotter. You'll see what I mean.

I have noticed the slight bulge in my G17 using Sellier and Bellot 147 gr factory ammo. I proved this to myself by only doing a partial resize of a fired case and (I didn't push the fired case all the way up into the resize die) just kind of neck sized the top and then made a dummy round.

After that I tried to drop the round into my barrel and like the video above, it would stick right near the case head.

I pulled the dummy round, did a full case resize, reloaded and the round dropped right into the barrel. The bulge on the 9mm may not be as noticeable as with the bigger cals but it can be there.

Granted my test was not the most scientific, but as a new reloader I had to check it out.
