The guns of James Bond

Fleming probably knew more about killin' folks than this guy, although it is sad to remember what the UK has been reduced to.
The .25 was for suppressed assassination, where a "man's gun" wouldn't have worked.

it's still WRONG- the gun pictured in the clip is a 1934 beretta, which would have been in 9mm corto, or 380, not 25- the 25 came out in '52, and was known as the 950 jetfire- he changes to the 950 in the "field test"-i started reading fleming back in school, and found that the man knew "very little" about firearms- or projected that image in his books- ie a savage 99 is a bolt action, that sort of thing- from the looks of things he simply took whatever gun came to mind at the time and projected it into the scene- that famous ar-7 armalite, for instance, claims to be in 25 auto, and the distances are exaggerated in the ladies mouth scene as well- in short , a bull artist

This is THE James Bond gun.

This picture was taken at the prop master's armoury some years ago and this is the REAL one used in the movies.

Ian Fleming was not a field man. He was with Naval Intelligence during WWII, planning and overseeing a number of operations and assault groups from The Admiralty. As a side note he is reputed to have spent time at Camp X here in Ontario as well.
He was an exceptional writer of fiction and children's books.

Can't watch the video, but my favorite poster of 007 movies is the one with Walther LP53 airpistol
Because I get the impression it was "scarier" looking than the usual PPK
