The Huglu Bandit (CZ Coach+) Maintenance Thread

Hello All! My first-time post, longtime forum lurker;

I'm an owner of the Huglu Bandit coach guns that were imported and sold by CANADA AMMO from BC (may their business R.I.P.). This SxS break action is a beauty with black chromed 13.75" barrels and a super stiff action.

The trigger when cocked it's loose as a goose with some play before any pressure then it creeps till breaking for each pull (single trigger with internal hammers). I'd love to depend on this for black bear defense and wildlife control...but after ~200 rounds I don't trust the sloppy trigger to potentially fail at the wrong time because of manufacturer QC.

Is a trigger job by a gunsmith likely going to improve things or is it even worthwhile with these Huglu break actions?...I heard that earlier Huglu shotguns had crappy triggers and firing pins but then it greatly improved with CZ-USA oversight.
My concern is that these special-for-Canada Ammo Huglu Bandits may have used 2nd rate actions that may have been rejected by CZ for QC issues and then sold to Canada buyers.

Any possible opinions by current Huglu importers?

Thanks,

**CORRECTION: CANADA AMMO of BC was the importer....CANADA FIRST AMMO is currently active and offers fantastic pricing on their products, I've purchased ammo and magazines from them for a great price.

Pardon the mix up CANADA FIRST AMMO, you're great!

Single trigger mechanisms are complex. Making adjustments as you suggest is beyond the capabilities of the average gunsmith, and may compromise the firing mechanism (ie both barrels fire simultaneously, barrels do not switch over, etc) I had a Huglu with trigger/firing mechanism issues. It was sent to one of the top shotgun smiths in Canada - it took him two attempts to remedy. Ultimately, he had to replace the entire firing mechanism (under warranty)

O awesome feedback, thanks Cosmic.
I got in touch with Prophet River and they suggested the build of the Huglu actions is pretty robust and no history of problems....and a potential gunsmith foul up is what I'd like to avoid too.
I'm in the middle of sourcing some firing pin and parts just in case as insurance.
