I speak of course of the Remington 1000 round plastic pail of .22LR, which Cabela's keeps dangling in front of me for the "low low price" of $100. Not something I would have contemplated shooting when W was still president, but one must lower one's standards to fit the situation.

Looking at the reviews on Cabela's, some are glowing and some are claiming total fail, but all are from the USA as far as one can tell.

Has anyone shot the stuff now being sold, and it as dirty as some claim, likewise are the bullets not crimped at all, are many of the rounds underpowered and are the rounds sometimes bent into a curve like hoops (which I myself have seen in the 555 stuff)? Or are they just standard Remington rounds in budget packaging?

I can't complain with remington's customer service. I found two duds in two different freedom bucket (223 remington, upside down primer, second one sideways primer no charge/bullet) and they sent me a cheque for 25$ USD each time. So I spent 380 CAD and got back 50 USD lol and still had 299 rounds go bang.

Worst case if you keep finding duds e-mail customer service (remington US) and they will take care of you!

Golly, it seems like both Remington and Winchester owe me hundreds! No, Winchester owes me many hundreds!

Picked up a bucket about a month ago and I found it burns really dirty.
Even handling it, loading it into magazines leaves a black residue all over my fingers.

Not bad for the price, but not an everyday go to. I could see using this when going out for the day and wanting quantity of shots over quality.
Just be prepared to clean your rifle real good after.

I just checked, I have a empty bucket form a couple of years ago. It was $79.00 plus tax and contained 1400 rounds of copper plated hollow points. The heads were all loose and ya I suppose it was a bit dirty but not as dirty as some Winchester I once had. I think $100 for 1000 rounds is a bit of a rip for B-O-B but if you need it what can you do...

Bought 5 at 65.99 for one bucket of 1400rds in 2014 at CT in Qc City.

Perfect for plinking, accurate enough to pop red bull cans, pop&beer cans and my gopher silhouettes at a 100m with 100% hits. Will print 2"/2.5" at 100m out of my Savage mk2 FV.

It is a bit dirty, had exactly 7 duds that all went off the second time in my first bucket. Some projectiles are spinning in the case and they still hit their target. Effective on gophers as well.

I wouldnt pay 100$ or 120$ for it, bu at the time, 65.99$ was a very fair price.

Wow! I wish Winchester would do that. I have two bulk packs of duds they never got back to me about...

Still $79.95 at Bass Pro when they have it in about once a month. Only get 6 to 12 buckets when they do and it is gone the same morning they get it.

shot half a bucket a few weeks ago during a camping trip. meh. I don't care for it much. Really dirty and uneven loads, lots of under-powered loads. Was gumming my magazines up. But if the price is right, why not.

Shot a bucket in a Ruger mkII in a slow fire pistol group. A few duds maybe 3-4 at most, Did not find it dirty at all. Last year for the hell of it wanted to see how many rounds the ruger would fire without any cleaning. Usually shoot 200 for sure each Saturday and sometimes stay on and shoot 50 more. Near as I remember it was still shooting after 1200 rounds. It would have fired more but I cold not stand it and cleaned it.

It's one of the few products that runs reliably through my AA .22 Glock kit. No loose bullets in my bucket that I have noticed. Also just FYI there are 1400 in a bucket not 1000.

At $100 for 1000 rounds I'd say no, but as mentioned by others the Remington bucket of bullets is 1400 rounds. I bought a couple buckets at $89 because a friend said it was ok. Haven't shot any myself yet.
