The Italian garand sights, connection is back

The Garand sight I picked up from a guy in Greece is just about as sloppy as my norc sight. It's centered better but is still fairly loose.

I have noticed that if I put some down pressure on the sight cover the slack disappears. Anyone else notice this and use it to their advantage? I am wondering what kind of adjustment to the cover needs to happen.
 
You can bend the sight cover to regain tension, but that would only be a temporary fix. The cover will just return back to it's original worn out shape. You're best bet would be to buy a new sight cover.

Replaced the M1 cover with my norc cover. Tight as a NC now!

Thanks for the hint!

P.S. Who would have thought that the cover was such an important part of the equation!

Keep checking ebay, they come and go. Also, check the begining of this thread, I recollect that someone posted the guys email address.
