Well I bought one of these back in the summer and installation is a snap. I am throwing a Swarovski 3x9 on my M1A and everything seems to fit.
A couple of questions for the old hands:
- I did not Loctite anything down yet. Will I be able to get a couple good groups out of the set up without anything shaking loose, do you think? I only have red Loctite and don't want to do anything permanent until I decide on whether I want to keep the scope on or not.
- I am looking at the geometry of this thing and my question is - is the scope mount prone to vertical stringing? I noticed a Youtuber fella getting that and to me...just looking at it...I can't really see the scope pivoting downward under the effects of recoil, but I can definitely see it pivoting upward. Is this a common problem?
The boys over at Phoenix range in Aaaadmintin have those Voodoo cheek rests so I picked on up - they were only 20 bucks...but are they any good? If not I won't feel bad, I am working on making a proper leather cheekpad as we speak.
Wish me luck on the range tomorrow fellas! My old eyes are good with irons out to 100 but after that my sight starts getting short and my groups start getting big! Hopefully this scope will tighten things up a bit...
