I find the military channel is propaganda for the US in there effort to look invincible. Personaly I want to see more then just the USA, give me european armies, russia, anything but whats on there!

true.... just sometimes you see the truth surfacing....
After 3 hours or more of praising their stealth technology... you see that the russians already have a radar to detect them ...

The propaganda is necessary, as most viewers are Americans;)

If you were to train a soldier ... what wold you tell him? --- Your weapon is the greatest.. in the hand of a trained soldier is the most lethal.... etc.

I like it!!!

what burns me is when they look at previous wars..ww1 ww2 korea..all they can talk about is themselves. if you didn't know any better you could swear it was them against everyone else. like normandy, it was them and the brits..not another soul on the beach!! according to them anyway.

I've had it since it came out on Dish Network a few years ago. It used to be really good, very mixed. But in the last year or so it seems to be more geared towards the Air Force. If I see one more Blue Angles show or Anatomy of a Supercarrier I'm going to lose it. ;)

My wife hates it also, but I'm a big fan of the Discoveries. On DN we get the regular Discovery Channel, Discovery Times, Health, Military, Kids.. There's always something on. Although they started doing a lot of "cross pollinating" lately and it seems like you can catch the same Future Weapons rerun on 3 of their channels a day. They're getting spread too thin and obviously are running out of new ideas.

Now if you want to talk propaganda, check out the Armed Forces TV program on the weekend... Everything is running smooth as ever, nothing to see here, no need to watch CNN...

Tell it to the Air Farce

Sounds more like the Navy to me :)

I watch the Military Channel regularly on Starchoice...as for asking for things from your provider, I'm blue in the face bugging them to start carrying Wild TV like BellExpress Vue has done! I'm spending almost $100.00 a month with them for their Premium Ultimate package...thinking about telling them to piss off and go with Bell....

THERE IS A MILITARY CHANNEL!!! D^*n you Sasktel why am I just hearing about this now?

Although the comments about US propaganda makes it hurt less.
The US actually is terrible at fighting wars. Since they atom bombed japan they have stalemated in Korea ,lost in veitnam trounced Granada and almost won in Iraq part 1 but went home before finishing then a humiliating defeat in Somalia
and now the war in Iraq. Not exactly impressive for the most expensive army in human history. In canada it is the polar oppisite we have a underfunded armed forces that manages to do some amazing things and a populace that could care less.

you can have your opinons about the U.S. and they are not unfounded , and the good ole US is far from perfect "whose friends are but
they kept the free world afloat all through the Cold war.
they are not the best but alot of good can be said about them.
and as far as the military channel bragging about the U.S. i really don't think its that bad. they show alot of stuff from other military's alot of the shows seem to be british .........if it was so big on propaganda why would they judge the Leo 2 as the top of the 10 ten tank list with the Abrams behind.
as far as propaganda goes ......dear old Canada is lote worse with its Canadian content laws.
