The Milsurp Online Match is Running Again!

I am just curious, why did you not inculde the SKS?

Not a battle rifle, not powerful enough. :) The spirit of the match is shooting fullbore military rifles, and the 7.62x39 is an intermediate / light cartridge. In the rules it discusses the requirements, and the one that eliminates the SKS is the 2,000ft-lbs of muzzle energy with a bullet heavier than 135grs.

Happy shooting folks!

PM sent...

I'll give it a go. Let's see how I do with a Savage No 4 Mk 1 and a Springfield M1A. I'll do 100 and 200 yards with each.

Yeah! I was all excited about this last year but never mailed off the targets I shot......so thanks for a second chance!

A few questions with regards to rifles and ammo.

a) I've picked up a Swede Mauser from Tradeex with the Elit Diopter sight from Tradeex (Swedish Shooting Federation setup). Would it qualify, or would the "globe" front sight (standard post within) disqualify it?

b) I have some Enfields and Mausers that I've sighted in before with cast bullets and would be interested in shooting again at 100 yard targets. Would that be okay or would the fact that they're not full-powered loads disqualify using them?

Cheers,

Frank

Not sure if I can find the time in Aug this year. Seems like last year it was ending Sept? However if I can find the time, I will be in for 100-200-300 and 500. Really enjoyed it last year and put lots of rounds downrange doing it. Mucho fun. Way to go Ardent!!!!

Swede Mauser's good to go with a post front sight in, the cast wouldn't be though (unless you've chrono'd them and they calculate out to 2,000ft-lbs or more at the muzzle, most cast loads won't however in these cartridges).

Wouldn't want to do it without ya, what date would work best for you? Mid-Sept close OK?
