Not sure if I ever bought new brass for the old milsurps before, but I feel they deserve it. Looks like maybe more shooters this year will make things more interesting. Hope to see a few target pics and also range and equipment pics. Always interesting. Good luck to everybody and have fun.
Ok, So I got out with both the M1A and the No4MkI this past weekend. I think a respectable entry with the M1A but the Lee-Enfield leaves a little to be desired. I blame this on what I was feeding it. I had no more 174 grain FMJs so I loaded up a near min load with 150 SPs and I dont think it likes it. Oh well. I got out!
Shooting off a simple rest, I think I counted these right:
Savage No4MkI
--------------
100Yds Target A 5 shots: 28
100Yds Target B 5 shots: 27
Total: 55
200Yds Target 10 shots: 16
Springfield M1A
--------------
100Yds Target A 5 shots: 36
100Yds Target B 5 shots: 43
Total: 79
200Yds Target 10 shots: 28
Beautiful, pricey little pieces of brass there redryder, bet they'll tighten things up a smidge and your shooting last year was already damn tight- I was glad you stayed out of the 100 yard.
icanuck, great job! Our first points on the board and very nice shooting with that M1A. Will do a quick review of the targets once off this mobile device and post you as the first guy in this year's standings, and the man to beat at the moment, in the main thread.
You did better than you thought icanuck, and scored yourself short as hits anywhere on the paper outside the rings, even outside the hash lines, as long as they're more than 50% on the paper (as in an edge hit) score as 5 points. Good shooting look forward to seeing your challengers!
