The most reliable rifle you ever owned.

I've owned a fair number of bolt action rifles and not one has ever let me down. The one instance of a problem was ammunition related and the cartridge wouldn't chamber.

My Browning BLR in .308, it shoots 1/2 moa and cycles like silk. Never had an issue with it, and of my 9 hunting rifles it's easily my first choice when I'm going for a walkabout.

With the exception of some semi auto firearms, most sporting arms are very reliable.
True, there have been some issues, but by and large, reliability isn't a big concern.

My reliable list.
'94 Winchester
99 Savage
1892 Winchester
1886 Winchester
88 Winchester
Browning Stainless Stalker
Winchester Model70
30 M1 carbine
Browning BAR
Lee Enfield (all models)
Ruger 96
96 Swedish Mauser
Mausers in general

This list is very long, I stop here

Remington 721 300H&H, purchased new for $61.00 Canadian delivered in 1961. Re barreled in 1973 after 22 pounds of H4831 down the spout and chambered in 300 Wby. Hunted with it in that latest configuration until 2005, when I gave it to one of my sons. It still shoots 150, 165, and 180 gr. Partitions to the same place, and has never let me or the son down. Only been to a gunsmith once, and that was for the re barrel.:D

My pre-'64 Model 70 Winchester 270 Win. wasn't new when I bought it in 1969. Through all kinds of weather and a pile of ammo it has never failed to feed, fire or eject. The trigger-pull is superb. The last gun I would ever sell and it will likly go to my grandson.

I've owned a number of different rifles by a variety of different manufacturers and with proper care, reliability has never been an issue. kamlooky has mentioned what I consider to be my favorite bolt action and in my favorite 30 caliber. A Schultz & Larsen, model 65DL in 308 Norma Magnum.

And Kevan has brought up my favorite lever action and caliber combination. A model 71 Winchester deluxe in 348 WCF.

Like others pretty much all current are very reliable. One that continues to surprise me though is a Remington 7600 35 Whelan that shoots to same POI year after year after year with first two rounds touching and 3rd within an inch.
After each outing it gets a careful cleaning ..light coat of oil.. and its ready for the next hunt

If I know I won't be able to confirm zero before a hunt ... I take the 7600.... period. Best kept secret in practical hunting tools!

Well I guess that would have to be pre mil 308 savage 99F. Next would be.... Mossberg 16 gauge bolt. But I am bias as those are all I ever used growing up. But never failed.

I've owned a bunch of rifles over tthe years and the only times I ever had a rifle that has ever prevented me from killing was a 700 moountain rifle LSS in 260 rem. One of my all time fav rifles, but if you weren't careful when you loaded the magazine the top shell wouldn't feed properly. Three years in a row several years ago though a member of our group had to use my backup rifle because their savage was out of commission, bolt spring, cracked stock, and a broken magazine follower.
