And who's starting to feel their pulse quicken?

My next gun will be an NEA-15M Carbine, tell you that right now.

If the projected numbers are right on cost...I would say that sound is the sound of the AR market getting nuked into oblivion. I have a feeling we are going to see serious, serious machines here. I don't know if it's just the caffeine, or possibly the heroin withdrawal (tough to get since the riots, you know...god damn city is on lockdown) but I am getting a little twitchy feeling off this.

Time to start loading up on 5.56! I fully intend to burn a crate through just to see the rifle run good and hot for a bit.

havent seen but im waiting for them with baited breath. be my first ar and im glad i didnt buy a nork before these were announced

tempted to buy a case of .223 in anticipation

The price is the price as we are already taking dealer orders for a sept launch.

As to what the rifles look like, Misanthropist as seen them.

As to why nobody has done this yet???? maybe there is no one around with 100k+ cash for tool up, three brand new delivered last month 5 axis horizontal mills with trunnions that can be dedicated to the project, the best programmer in Canada and will not to rape anyone. Our uppers run from start to finish in under 30min, from billet.

Yeah the biggest question, if it could be done why has nobody done it before?
NEA was a perfect storm of capability and willingness. They didn't start from scratch and already had millions of dollars of state of the art machine ready for use. Then you add a Gunnut into the mix, and you've got NEA.

My ##### is erect with anticipation. I'm finally going to buy a #### eating AR15.

Very interested in these!

Let's hear the specs of the bolts, carriers, barrels, everything.

How would they stack up on this chart?
(for what this chart is worth....which isn't very much, but it would give us an idea what we are getting).

other then the price tag and lack of a free float quad rail..... we are pretty much in line with LMT.

Our NDT testing is actually done across the street from our building. They get pushed over in a hand cart...... which incidentally is where two more 14 and 12.5 NEA 870 barrels will be going on Wed.

Although I am rarely inclined to fly the A model of anything, in this case I am willing to give it a shot...

My reasoning is pretty simple: an AR lower is really just a parts box and the specs are well known for building a good one.

The uppers are already out there and we'll know pretty quickly if there are any issues.

The small parts are also public knowledge and all it takes is the willingness to spend enough on their production to have good ones rather than just tracking down the cheapest supplier this month and buying whatever Colt rejected (I'm looking at you here Bushmaster).

The only question mark is the barrel and let's be honest...barrels are not really rocket science (and if they are, NEA's aerospace wing can probably give pointers). Again it's just a matter of what your priority is: building quality, or minimizing parts cost.

So far it appears that NEA has consistently put a premium on building quality parts, and hasn't really shied away from expensive procedures or equipment (thanks no doubt to the fact that they are really the small arms cell of a larger manufacturing company who happen to have deep pockets and similar production equipment).

The AR is a pretty modular rifle. If you use good parts there is no particular reason it should give you any trouble. As long as they are spec'd like a Colt etc, they should run like a Colt.

And I doubt very much NEA would go to the trouble of doing this just to give us the equivalent of a DPMS. Why bother? People for the most part would just continue buying Norincos if the NEA isn't any better.

Anyone who reads my posts in the hockey threads knows that I am very guarded about predicting anything, no matter how probable I think it is. But in this case I am very, very confident that we are looking at a serious player in the Canadian (at least) AR market.

And this much is not a prediction: the rifles look ####ing badass. I am not 100% certain what I am allowed to reveal so I will withhold details...but yeah. The rails remind me a bit of the DD Omega rail, maybe crossed with the HK 416 rail, but more modular...pretty ####ing cool.

I have already demanded access to all the technical info...apparently it will be supplied and I will be doing a THOROUGH evaluation of this gun when it hits. I am also a medium-believer in "the chart" but am well aware of its flaws.

It's a starting point though and I will definitely be applying TDP-related standards to the NEA guns.

The complete rifles will be nice, but as someone who already owns several AR's, many of which cannot be easily built anymore due to recent US export issues, I'm most exceited about quality Canadian-made parts instead of needing to rely on what mood the state department is in.

Of particular note is short pistol and carbine barrels with bore hi-wear resistance coatings.

When my NEA 7.5" comes in, it will immediately go onto a fully assembled and ready to go US made AR for some serious testing and a review for here and MSC.

Can't hardly wait ;)

Good to hear, can't wait to see the final product.

This project has been a labor of love, while we are excited about our foreign orders the best part of being a fire arms manufacturer here in Canada is bringing product to fellow Canadian shooters. I hope that our excitement to properly service the Canadian market place shows through in our customer service before and after sales.

Looking forward to it. What barrel length are you going with?

we are offering the gun in 2 config's

The NEA15 - which comes with our free float quad rail. Its comes as the carbine in either 14.5 or 12.5 or the CQB in 10.5 or 7.5

The NEA15M - which is our monolithic. Its comes as the carbine in either 14.5 or 12.5 or the CQB in 10.5 or 7.5
the monolithic will be released a month later then the Quad railed version.

I know I am weighing in pretty late here, and this question has probably already been floated, but anyways here goes.....I travel to the US to shoot 3 Gun Matches, are there any plans to do a 16.1" barrel version so I could travel to the US with a Canadian made AR?
