hey all. a friend refered me to this site. got my restricted and non restricted a few months ago and i have no clue what gun to get first. hoping to learn a few things from this site.
Start small and then make range friends and they may let you try a couple of rounds in their guns to see what you like the feel of. Get a nice 22 rifle and shoot the heck out of it, best bang for the buck bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION BUD!!!!!!!
Welcome! I think you'll find you'll end up owning most things that interest you eventually, so do background reading, learn what a good price is both used and new, and try them out beforehand by test shooting the same and similar models.
A good start is to get a .22 bolt action, because they're great to shoot, very cheap to feed, and you'll always come back to .22's and eventually, are good to teach others on. Also, they're quite cheap.
The downside is that you'll be tired of it initially, but that's just a good reason to buy a new gun
P.S. Vancouver is amazing for gun owning and buying - lots of owners here.
I too would suggest a .22, both in the restricted and non-restricted catagories.
A bolt is a great place to start.
For a handgun, you can't go wrong with either a Browning or a Ruger.
thanks for the tips. ive shot a friends .22 and i was bored of it in few hours. then i tried my friends rem 700 .308 tactical. now thats a fun rifle to shoot. thinkin of picking that thing up as my first.
