Here are the pictures of the actual NEW SVI grips.

These grips are on their way to Alberta and will be at Phoenix Indoor range as of this coming weekend - Contact Len for more details

About 2 weeks later, the grips will be with DVC ventures in BC, contact Kelly for more details

After DVC Ventures, they will be going back to Alberta to The Shooting Edge in Calgary.

You will be able to see, play, & handle the stipple grips in 2 different sizes (one for small to medium hands and the other for larger hands), as well the SVI Signature Grip (without grip tape*) in both steel and aluminum.

*The grip tape is not applied so to give the client the option of color & texture

Stay tuned for their next stop

These grips are demo grips, so that shooters across the country can see exactly what they will be ordering - because they really well made and made for the shooter

I ve had the honor to see this grip from its very beginning and played with the proto-type and the end result is way better

we are taking orders - the grips touring are not for sale NOW but will be sold as demos as soon as the new shipment arrives

prices are on the CRAFM website - click on the INFINITY the home page
maybe 2 kidneys with the exchange rate the way it is - but you are getting only best custom work available

I heard organs do grow back, eventually

ok I'm not a 1911 guy, but I got to play with a couple of the guns with those grips on them back at CRAFM. and they rock. they feel great, look awesome, and the ones I played with didn't have that stupid grip safety. it was filled in by these grips. not sure how that works, but much better than I expected.

Infinity Grips

The new signature and standard Infinity grips use a proprietary magwell, mainspring housing, mag release and trigger bow/base. Your Ed Brown style grip safety may or may not fit properly, depending on how much was removed from the lower portion during the fitting to your current frame and grip. Installation of the new Infinity grips on your existing frame is best done by someone competent, as there is most likely a lot of fitting involved.
The price that will be quoted to you will include all these parts. In other words, a complete grip assembly.
Hope that helps.

Do these grips have the new SVI mag release that won't take a standard STI mag release?

If I recall.. the price is between $800-$1000 for the entire grip assembly. This includes mainspring and housing, mag release, mag well, and trigger bow. The only thing not included in the price is actual trigger insert... which is a personal preference.

Once you see and handle these grips, you will see they are worth the price.

As Alex said, these are not drop in parts. They have to be properly fitted by a gunsmith certified to work on SVI's. Better yet is to let SVI themselves fit it if you absolutely want to retrofit an older SVI.

For those of you who are considering buying a new SVI, Brendan and the folks down in Texas can provide you with a new pistol fitted for two or three grips from the factory. What could be better than that!!
