Hi, I wasn`t 100% sure where to look for reviews or anything on this peice of equipment and didn`t see anything in the scope and optics section for cz 858. Please point me to the right direction if it has been discussed already.

I was thinking of getting the NEA cantilever scope mount for wolverine supplies, but i wanted to know if I could put any kind of scope on it or not, the special on at wolverine has more of a sniper scope and i would like to put a more tactical scope on it. I was thinking of something around 7-8 inches long, but wasn`t sure if the ejecting bullets would hit the scope while fireing. Would anyone know? Thanks in advance.

If you put a full length scope on it it's going to get bashed. We did a lot of testing with this mount and short dots, red dots and other small sized optics. Great mount.

I'll be testing the mount on a full sized scope this weekend just to see how bad it'll get pinged up.. I don't expect it to survive. But we're also working on a solution for this problem.

I have done some tests today with the cantilever mount from NEA.

First thing to say, this is a very well built unit. Nice finish, you can see this is quality !!
The lever work well and you can feel this is a strong unit.

However, the mount have not keep the zero after the removal and reinstall.
I have shots 500 rounds just for check the zero and thats was not concluding compare with the NEA upper handguard.

A good thing with this mount is that, the weight of the rifle with the optic is better balanced.

I will do more shooting this week and post a full review with pics.

sounds like you need to tighten the pressure on the lever.
We have 5 units with a couple thousand rounds through them now with no issues holding zero.

I will try this tommorow maybe this is just a question of find the best tension in the lever... Yeah like you have say i have just shots 500 rounds with the mount and not a couple thousands so somes another testing will be the thing to do.

BTW i like this mount and this will stay on my rifle.

Do you have another scope to try? maybe even a red dot? If not pm me and i can lend you one to prove out your set up.

I just got mine today from Charles Martel. The butt stock adapter sit really high, unlike the fab buffer tube. Kinda forcing me to scrap the front scout scope, which is fine as I wanna try the rear scope.

I just need to get a compact scope to try out. I want something higher than 4x tho...

BTW, how do you tighten it? Do I have to take that roll pin out. I noticed mine is pretty loose, no way it will hold zero.

I have ask the same thing to Charles Martel. You just have to put the lever into the release position and push it forward. The nut on the other end should push out. Simply tighten it.

Gentlemen:

If I may, all ADM mounts that have the locking lever design work in the same manor regardless of optic used.

-Open up the leaver all the way.

-Then push it towards the other side. This screw is under spring tension, and should "push out" the retaining screw

-while the head of the retaining screw is disengage, give it a turn with a slot screw driver. It should turn easily

-Release the leaver, mount it on your gun, and then close.

I find the best tension is when it so tight you can just barely get the leaver closed and locked via hand tension. If you can not get it closed by hand, open it up as speified above, and back off a partial turn.

If this is unclear let me know and I will try to take some pictures to illustrate.

I have told myself a hundred times, "if something looks too hard, you're looking at it wrong."

Thanks Hobbyist, worked like a charm, time to take it to the range.

Once I wrangle up a compact scope and shoot some groups I'll post a pic and range report.

I would love to mount a Nightforce NSX 2.5-10. They are pretty pricey tho...more than the entire build, not may options for a compact 10x scope over 4 power though.

LOL, oh my, no. It's a NC Star 4x32 I got from GP Tactical. Seems like a decent little scope for the price and it fits really nice on that rail. Gary at GP Tactical said he's beaten a few of these around and they've stood up well. That's enough recommendation for me.
