has anyone seen/handled/shot the new 1885? Unfortunately they only come in WSM, but I have been eyeballing them for awhile now. I remember asking about single shot accuracy and the consensus seemed to be that the bolt action is generally more accurate. Has anyone seen range results with these new 1885's? I was also looking at the 28" barrel, I bet that will squeeze quite a bit more performance out of these cartridges too.

Although I havwe not shot the new1885, I have 4 Browniung single shots in various cartridges, two in 6.5WSM, and one in 6.5/284 (my son's).
ALL shoot crazy accurate.

Shortmags.org has had some feedback on the new 270WSM, and the rilfes will print 1/2" at 100 regularly.
Not bad for a two piece stock!
I'd buy one in a heartbeat, except I already shoot the 6.5 WSM, and am rechambering one in 6.5WSSM.

The octagon barrel is way cool, however!

Oh, and the 28"barrel?

Pud has some at Baqshaw Sports, and he measured the OAL up against a 26" Remington Sendaro.

The 1885 with the 28" is a full 3" SHORTER, becuase of the action!

VERY nice rifles, IMHO.

if you go to their website, you can vote on what chambering you would like to see in the 1885, i voted for the .303 british, it'd be about time a new rifle was made in this cartridge.
