The Nicest Shotgun You've Ever Had

Nice shotgun. I've wanted an over under for a while now

The nicest shotgun I've ever owned/still own is a merkel sxs. It's was cheap from tradeex but man I love that thing. It just shoots where ever I'm looking

The nicest looking ones in terms of wood, steel finish and smoothness I have is a BPS and a Milano.

The deadliest in terms of #s game taken is a Cooey 840.

"Nice", I suppose, can mean a few things. In this context I'm going to assume it is both the prettiest and also of the highest level of craftsmanship. And, in keeping with the OP's post, until I managed to acquire this one, I never thought I'd be able to have a gun like this. They seemed utterly out of reach. It's a Charles Daly Diamond Quality Model 275 made by H.A Lindner circa 1901. 12 gauge......extra full chokes on 30" barrels. It is as finely crafted as any gun out there. It's neither a big heavyweight gun not a lightweight game gun. Weighs in at 7.5 pounds. I try to get it out duck hunting at least once a year.

I have a JD Dougal best grade side lever sxs 12ga with original 2.5" chambered Damascus barrels and an extra set of fluid steel barrels with 2.75" chambers. Next would be my Ithaca 4e trap gun

Since "nice" isn't really defined and could mean fancy or maybe functional instead, I'm going with the latter. After shooting Beretta's, Brownings, Guerini's, Kreighoff's and a whole host of other target guns over the last few decades, I can honestly say that my Perazzi High Tech is the nicest that I've ever shot in terms of weight, balance, ergonomics, comfort and durability. I've been shooting it for about 5 years now and can't see myself ever wanting a different 12 gauge sporting gun.

That's very nice. Especially the condition of that gun being from 1901. I almost acquired an AYA No 2 but during inspection I discovered the reblued barrels had bluing salts inbetween the rib and was rotting it from the inside out. You could hear the rust running up and down the inside of the rib as you tilted the barrel. There was a little spot hole in the rib near the chamber and rust was coming out of it. A tap test on the barrels showed the rib was still fine but I wasn't willing to take a chance on it so I passed.
