This was my second airgun, just found it the other day at my parent's place. Brought it home with me so it could reside with the powder burners. Last I remember, me and some friends were shooting pop cans at 100 yards with it with decent success. It was huge fun, especially since this thing shoots only around 600 fps.

It hasn't been fired in years, so I'm gonna have to go through it and do a little rejuvenation. I'm gonna try to order the necessary o-rings and make sure everything is good to go.

Looks good, sometimes its good to take a break. Certainly a lot of info out there on those QBs especially at the UKchineseairgunforum those Brits find it suits there 12ftlb limit to a tee. Enjoy
 
I have a QB-79 and love it. Had it out last fall (after a long break from shooting it) and it was leaky...power levels all over the place~a sick puppy. When it is running fine (and it will again) it's an awfully fun air rifle. We used to set-up fallen apples on sharpened sticks, then jam those into the grass. Sniping small apples @ 50 yards was a pile of fun, the kids loved it too.
 
They are great rifles, and compared to powder burners, crazy cheap.

@.22LRGUY - Archer Airguns seems to be selling rebuild kits for $60. I might get one of those in the coming days.

I also want to look into really tuning this one.. if I recall, I think I have Charlie Da Tuna's tune kit in there, but there are other more advanced tuning methods that were outside of my comfort zone before. Not anymore :evil:
 
I bought mine tuned, but from what I hear...you can't ramp-up a 79 like you can a 78. I did have someone (locally) offer to fix mine in exchange for an old air pistol I have kicking around, might take him up on it.

Damned CO2 in the cold weather though...only good outside for a few more weeks...

Very true... I was considering an HPA conversion, but that seems like it might be a bit of a hassle.

I think I'll stick to subsonic .22lr plinking when the weather turns colder, and maybe this QB will be up and running for next season

Thanks. The PCP is great. Was done right, but not by me. I purchased it brand new and sent the parts out west to be fitted with the new tube. Extra anchor screws were also added to the valve.

The 79 build was mine. Adjusted the regulator to 1200psi and added extra anchors to the tank block.

Sorry to hijack this cool thread BUT what is that scope ? Cost ?
