Over the last few months some members of the ORA have been kind enough to give up their time to help, coach, guide folks that want to get into the F class game.

2 classes were theory on twisting dials and reading wind with a shoot indoors following each class.

Yesterday and today were practical at the Mons range in Borden, starting at 300 yards and going back to 1000 yards today. The weather yesterday was wet in the morning, clearing in the afternoon and today was wet all day.

Both days each shooter had an experienced coach/ shooter to work with, giving a helpful advise on wind doping and which way to twist the dial for the elusive "V - Bull" that so many of us wanted.

Many thanks to and in no order, Ric, Norm B, Terry, Mike, Jim, Thomas, Kam, and Ice Pick for the truck running us back and forth to the butts.

If I forgot anyone I apologise in advance but you get the idea, we appreciate your time to try and help some new guys get into the longe range game.

I saw a bunch of new faces out shooting on the weekend and some of the guys were shooting some very nice shots! Sunday was a bit of a bummer with the weather. I packed it in early on Sunday but during the early part of the morning the conditions were pretty flat so it gave the guys a nice chance to see how they could get on at 1000. There were a few that had it dialed in just right and were hitting the vee regularly.

Hope to see you guys at some matches this year.

I was only able to be there on Saturday but from what I saw, the new shooters took their winter lessons to heart. Right from 300 to 600 yards the new guys were dialing into the V-bull with no problem. I see a big bunch of shooters ready to try the precision/sniper discipline. Muzzle brakes are welcome.:dancingbanana:

We are getting ready, too much fun especially when folks that have the knowledge are willing to share.Makes for a good time, thanks.

I also had a good time this weekend. I found that my new load works dynamite at longer ranges with the 6 br.
I learned that I need a proper rain suit, laff. that I should get a proper shooting mat because a shipping blanket weighs 30 lbs when wet and I need to keep my hands warm, the bones are getting older and don't like the damp cold as much.
I also learned that trying to write on a wet score sheet is like trying to write on peanut butter, you leave a mark but can't really read it.
I also got to shoot in the new 1/2 min. targets with Heinz, they're not any harder to use I find. The middle of the page is the middle of the page.

Mike.
