Today,I ordered a 700 5R Milspec in 308win and a Nightforce NXS 3.5x15x50 with matching rings and base. Now I just have to purchase some Lapua brass, and some matchkings, and wait until everything arrives. Now I can finally get to try a nightforce scope, and do some long range shooting. After selling off all of my big magnums due to retina problems,it will be nice to be shooting again.

How long until all that gets to you? I remember putting my piece together... From choosing parts to finally finding someone who had them in stock, must've been 3 months (which is probably nothing for some people). Nonetheless, it was my first firearm and I couldn't wait!

Rick from ATR has the scope in stock, and the rifle is coming from another vendor from this site.Dies, bullets and powder shouldn't be a problem,so it will depend on the brass.I am really not in a great hurry,as I still have one eye surgery to undergo.By next spring,I hope to be learning all about long range shooting,as I have never shot at a target past 500 meters.

Ive ordered the same from Frontier but will put a luep on it unless the sendero becomes too much of a heavy liability then will switch the nghtforce to it. What sort of performance do you expect from it?

I ordered from Frontier as well so they better have two in the order that is arriving.:D
I went with the Nightforce after getting sick and tired of having the eye relief on my higher magnification Leupold scopes change so much as the magnification is changed.
After reading several reports,I am expecting 1/2 moa with the rifle using Matchkings and Lapua brass. If it doesn't deliver,or if I decide that I want even better accuracy,it will be sent off to be accurized or even rebarreled.

Hey, me too, this morning (but not from Frontier so dont worry).

Specifically which base and rings did youse go with?

For scope am thinking Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x 40mm (which comes with both types of turrets). Have Nikon Monarch on another rifle and am pleased with it. Bought a Leapers 3-9 40mm illuminated for a .22 and its okay but not as nice as the Nikon.

--- EDIT
Checked the adjustment on the Buckmark - 50 moa. Thinking one piece base weaver base (recommendations welcome) and Burris Z rings so can put in different inserts if need be.

I went with the 20 moa nightforce rail, and nightforce rings.I want to make sure that I can dial the scope in for 1000 yards with the 308win.Without a tapered base, many scopes won't allow you to do this.

I really like my 5R. Sub .5 moa with 168 grain Federal Gold Match. I'm looking forward to 175 grain ammo.

I'll probably be going with a Night force for my 7mm Wildcat. Definately an excellent scope.

For the 5R I went with a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x 50mm with the 1000 yard Rapid Z reticle. It's a compromise for sure, but still a nice scope and should work for my needs. Ultimately I would have liked a Night force for this rifle but I'm still happy with the Zeiss Conquest.

That is a nice range, looking forward to joining next year. Those the EGW base & rings too? Am now leaning to the QRW Leupold bases and rings. Funny how the RBCS tumbler and Hornady are the same except for the paint (see that with Mastercraft & Craftsman often too). The scope came from Allen's Gunworks?
