These awesome little safety devices fit much better under a short barreled AR than the M203 style 9" barreled units. And instead of sliding forward to load they actually pivot to the side which allows the use of longer flare bodies.
This is a comparison viewing of the three different length launchers on comparable AR-15s. Keep in mind the barrels on all of these ARs are 16.5" with Carbine length gas systems :
