Here’s a special that will knock your socks off: a genuine Cold War collectible sure to settle the ‘mine is bigger than yours’ debate! The Czechoslovakian VZ-52 is an all-original military issue 82mm mortar that makes an extremely impressive display, conversation, and re-enactment piece. Ours come with the complete set of field issue equipment as used by the crews who fielded them. These were originally fielded with four man crews who could maintain a firing rate of 15-20 rounds per minute.

Now you can own your very own 82mm mortar complete with full issue kit for a surprisingly low price. These make a great centrepiece for the serious collector, military club (mess, legion, etc.), and will definitely turn heads on display at any militaria show or in any army surplus store. Please note these are fully functional and are not available to U.S. clients. Sorry, ammunition is NOT available (military and government agencies with special licensing please contact us with your paperwork for further information if you want ammunition). Note: very limited quantity available. Dealers welcome. Not considered a firearm by the CFC. Must be 18 years or older to purchase.

Every VZ-52 82mm Mortar comes complete with the following original issue equipment:

- 82mm Mortar Launch Tube (1,150mm long)
- Heavy Base Plate (Standard Issue)
- Adjustable bipod assembly with hydraulic recoil system
- Optic sight in specially fitted metal transit box
- Cleaning rod complete with brush and “rammer”
- Base adapter for vehicular use (in gunner’s box)
- Oil bottle, solvent bottle, grease can (in gunner’s box)
- Canvas mortar cover (not shown in picture)
- Canvas optic cover (not shown in picture)
- Pick and shovel (not shown in picture)
- Back boards (not shown in picture)

Yours for only $995...

I like the fine print:

Be the only one on your block to own your very own 82mm mortar, the be the only one on your block! (Just kidding, ammunition is NOT available to private individuals - but this mortar makes a great display and conversation piece!) Limited quantities available.

I bought a 2" British mortar from K&M years back when they were importing them live: $400. I fired an empty illum round out of it using a ballistite cartridge I bought at a gunshow. Only problem was the empty illum round was so light it flew off to infinity.
25 years in the CF (as a tradesman mind you) and the first and only mortar I got to fire was off my driveway.
The one thing both my buddy and I said after it went off: This is way too good to be legal".
I have since collected a number of empty rounds for it, and may fire it off again this year. You can use 28 guage shotgun shells in substitute for the ballistite (must remove the steel shot of course). Apparently teabags of powder will give it some extra ooomph, but I don't want to find the tubes breaking point.

I'm sure if you had access to a lathe, you could make some short-range "training" bombs just for giggles; the US and other countries used 22 LR blank-powered sub-calibre kits for training gunners on several of their mortars.
