I have been toying with another 1911 and I have been up in the air about calibre and the manufacturer of the frame/slide. I am sure the Fusion is the way to go and I was ready to move on it when a friend offered me a like new Colt on Colt 9mm he had put together. He has $1,500 in it and I can have it for $1,000. Yes, I know the guy that put it together and his name is Larry Green, he runs Larry's Gunshop in Royal Oak, MI. Larry knows guns and his work is good. I am going to shoot the 9mm and then see what I think. Regards, Richard:D

I had a Colt Commander in 9mm and it was a great little gun, you'll have lots of fun with it. The only big issue with them is mags. I think the Metalform are the ones that work best but I have't tried any so I can't say for sure. See if you can get some different mags to try. Most stock Colt ones (like the ones mine came with) are not the most reliable. If on the otherhand you reload, you can load them long and use .38 super mags
