The poor cousin of big game cartridges.

Why not?

MadDog's latest thread got me thinking about this. Why don't more people use it?

It is a very accurate and adequate for deer, bear, and moose cartridge, yet most don't even know it exists.

:) The circumstances of choice and popularity are at times more than a little fickle. I have one that similar questions could be asked of. One of my, no, my favorite lever gun/calibre combo :d. The 348 WCF.

40MW plasma rifles are quite scarce

I had too many .35's... something had to go and the .35 Rem didn't make the short list... neither did the .358 Norma... I kept the three in the middle.

I grew up shooting my dad's model 336 in 35 Remington. I still really like the cartridge/rifle but have gravitated towards more versatile rifles and cartridges in recent years.

There's a calibre ;) I weakened on. I was on the search for a 358NM to complete my quest for a three gun collection of Schultz & Larsens. I was trying to match the three cartridges shown on the cover of the old Norma reloading manual. The 7x61S&H, 308NM and the 358NM which were a the result of a development co-operation between Norma and Schultz. Prior to finally locating a Schultz & Larsen in 358NM, I was offered a VERY nice model 1651 Husqvarna in 358NM, which I weakened and bought. I was going to part with the Husqvarna when I obtained the Schultz. I've had two offers for for it but haven't let it go yet.

While I like my 358 Win in the BLR, and the 356 Win in my Marlin and Winchester lever actions, my wife isn't fond of recoil of this level, so I got her a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem as her saddle/camp gun.

Bought a Browning BLR 358 early 80, never found a use for it, still unfired.

Never had ammo for it, It's a nice collectable i was told.

Always fetch up a 308 especially one of my Steyr Scout for my go to hunting rifle

I never understood why the .35 rem never got a good foothold. The 336 and the .35 rem are about the perfect combo for hunting deer in the thickets.

Agreed, and I am a member of that club! :ar15:

Cheers
Jay
